I mean, really? I got on facebook this morning and literally every story from a news source started with “person injured/person dies/in a traffic accident”. Or simply, “slide off slide off slide off”.
I’m not blaming those who were in a multi-car wreck and died. It is truly sad when someone dies—no matter how. Chances are, the other people on the road are driving recklessly, and some innocent, cautious person becomes a casualty.
WE LIVE IN MICHIGAN PEOPLE. Snow is not a foreign concept to us. It happens every year. This year we got lucky and didn’t see much snow. However, this is not the first snowfall of the year (well, technically it’s the first real snowfall of 2012). Slow down, watch for careless drivers, and give yourself plenty of time for your commute so you are not rushing. I don’t care what happens to a person who drives recklessly—you’re the one to blame if someone happens. However, think of all the other people on the road. Driving recklessly in the snow is like driving drunk—you could hurt/kill someone else and that’s not cool.
So remember. Snow is not new. It’s been happening here since the dawn of time. Be careful.
